Augusta Health remains committed to providing team members access to high-quality healthcare benefits while keeping premiums affordable. For times when that may not be possible, both options are also part of the Aetna national network for medical services and MedImpact national network for pharmacy services.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Take advantage of intelligent, seamless, and user-friendly FSAs from WEX. The WEX Medical Flexible Spending Account is a tax-free account that lets you contribute pretax dollars from your paycheck to pay for prescription drugs, dental, vision, hearing and other medical expenses for you and your dependents.

Note: If you are enrolled in the Augusta Health High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) or any other high deductible HDHP plan outside of Augusta Health, then you are not eligible for this benefit.

The Medical FSA benefit is a use-or-lose benefit, meaning you must spend the funds by 12/31 each year.

The WEX Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account helps save money on eligible dependent care services, such as child (up to age 13) or adult daycare, before or after school programs, summer day camp, and more.

Eligibility for the Dependent Care FSA is not affected by your choice of medical plan.

The Dependent Care FSA benefit is a use-or-lose benefit meaning you must spend the funds by 12/31.

Both heads of household must be working to qualify.

Health Savings & Investment (HSA)

Important: Read the HSA Eligibility information to confirm you are allowed by the IRS to participate. Managing your IRS eligibility is up to you!

When enrolled in the Augusta Health High Deductible Health Plan (AH HDHP link), you choose how much money to contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA) through WEX. In addition to what you contribute, Augusta Health will also contribute to your HSA.

  • 2024 Augusta Health HSA Information
  • The combined total of you and your employer HSA contributions may not exceed the annual IRS limit.
  • Carry any unused HSA balance from year-to-year. HSA dollars are accumulated with interest or can be invested like a retirement plan benefit. Plus, you can take the money with you if you leave Augusta Health or retire. There is no “use it or lose it” rule for the HSA.

Take advantage of triple tax savings through the HSA:

  1. Reduce your taxable income by contributing to a Health Savings Account.
  2. Pay for qualified Medical, Dental, and/or Vision expense free of tax.
  3. Earn tax-free interest on HSA dollars and invest tax free.

 

To be eligible for the Health Savings Account (HSA) through Augusta Health, you must meet the eligibility requirements. It is your responsibility to read and understand these rules.

      • You must be enrolled in Augusta Health’s High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
      • You cannot be enrolled in Medicare or Tricare.
      • You cannot have any other medical coverage.
      • You cannot be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return.
      • If your spouse is participating in a General-Purpose Healthcare Flexible Spending Account through his or her employer, you are not eligible for the HSA.
      • If you have plans to become enrolled in Medicare at a future date, make sure there are no contributions made to your HSA at least six months before your Medicare enrollment begins.

It is never too soon to start investing in YOUR future. Augusta Health’s Retirement Savings Plan offers several ways for you to build your retirement savings.

If you’re a Retirement Savings Program participant, you can log in to your Empower retirement account at https://participant.empower-retirement.com/.

If you’re eligible and not a participant, you may be missing out on valuable benefits and opportunities to secure your financial future. Augusta Health’s Retirement Savings Plan offers a matching contribution and tax advantages.

Starting to save early and consistently for retirement is one of the best decisions you can make for your long-term financial well-being.

All team members are eligible to participate in Augusta Health’s 403(b) retirement plan and are automatically enrolled after 30 days of employment at a 1% contribution. Change contributions online at https://participant.empower-retirement.com/.

  • Make 403(b) pre-tax contributions via payroll deduction.
  • A Roth 403(b) post-tax contribution option is also available.
  • You control how much you contribute, and your amount can be changed anytime.
  • Changes will occur on the next administrative payroll.
  • You may contribute up to 75% of your eligible pay up to the IRS annual limit.
  • You have choice of investments.
  • Loans or hardship withdrawals are available.
  • You are eligible for distribution or rollover at retirement, or when employment ends.

Full-time and part-time team members (excluding PRN and Relief) who are contributing to the 403(b) plan will receive a 401(k) match of 50% of the first 6% contributions.

  • Employer matching contributions are vested at 3 years.

  • Loans or hardship withdrawals are available.

  • You are eligible for distribution or rollover at retirement or when employment ends.

Life and AD&D Insurance

Team members who work full-time and part-time are eligible to purchase voluntary Employee, Spouse, Child Life Insurance and/or voluntary AD&D Insurance through Sun Life. The Sun Life voluntary benefits offer conversion and portability privileges, meaning you can opt to purchase these benefits within 30 days of retirement or termination of employment.

Voluntary critical illness insurance is offered through Sun Life and provides a cash benefit upon diagnosis of a critical illness which can include heart attack, stroke, paralysis, and more. Disability Benefits

Augusta Health pays the cost for short-term disability insurance for all full-time and part-time team members. Short-term disability pays a percentage of your salary up to 60% for a specified amount of time when you are needing to be absent from work due to accidental bodily injury, sickness, mental illness, substance abuse, or pregnancy and cannot perform the duties of your job.

Augusta Health covers the cost for Long-Term Disability insurance. If you are unable to work because of a covered disability, Long-Term Disability insurances replaces a portion of your income. As a not-for-profit organization, Augusta Health qualifies as an eligible employer for the PSLF Program. The PSLF is a federal program that forgives any remaining student loan balances for those who work full time at a qualified not-for-profit and make 120 qualifying payments. Tuition.io helps guide team members through the complex process of determining eligibility and filing an application if they qualify for the PSLF program. All team members are eligible for Tuition.io PSLF’s support services.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

SLRA is available to team members in certain nursing and respiratory therapy positions. Team members who qualify for this program will receive $350/month towards their eligible student loans up to $5,250/year across ALL educational benefits.
