Shaping a Culture of Belonging Across Your Career
Welcome to Engaging Us, where we leverage the full team member lifecycle to foster a culture of belonging in the workplace. From recruitment to retention, we prioritize a supportive and empowering career experience, ensuring every team member feels valued. Recognizing your important role in engagement, below explore ways you can join us in creating an environment where we all can thrive!
In the sections below, explore how we bring this culture to life throughout the team member lifecycle:
At the base of our culture are our foundational behaviors or what we refer to as the Augusta Health Way. This is our intentional focus on our mission which is to strengthen the health and well-being of all people in our communities. To achieve this mission, we believe there are moments that clearly define this focus for every patient and team member interaction.
It takes all of us, working together and committed to actively recognize and reinforce a demonstration of our foundational behaviors, encourage and share diverse opinions for improved processes, and apply the Human Business Human model of engagement to achieve success.
Augusta Health’s Human Resources professionals provide two essential orientation programs, New Team Member Orientation designed for all new team members, regardless of role and New Leader Orientation, for those in a formal leadership role. At their core, both programs are designed to jump start our newest team members’ career journey by establishing a sense of belonging and value, clarifying service & safety expectations, connecting their role to foundational behaviors and meaningful work, and engaging them on a pathway of continuous development. Subsequent department-specific onboarding programs reinforce these foundational elements while providing specialized technical and job role related guidance.
At Augusta Health, we are interested in fostering the career growth, connectedness, and peak performance of our people. To this end, we strive to shape a culture of ongoing conversations that serve to align and connect each individual and their role to our organizational initiatives and mission through the lens of continuous development.
As one of the only five truly independent community-based non-profit health systems remaining in Virginia, Augusta Health is dedicated to its focus on our serving, supporting, and enhancing the health and wellbeing of our communities. Toward this effort, we are continuing to develop a variety of opportunities for our team members to engage in community outreach.
